We Miss Chace

I'm blogging today from St. Lukes Medical Center where Kaden has been confined since Friday. Thank goodness for WiFi!

We consulted with a doctor Friday morning and we were advised to bring Kaden up to see a Pedia-Gastro specialist as soon as possible. So we took the next flight to Manila that very same day and came straight to the hospital from the airport. God is good, because so far Kaden's test results have come back normal.

Friday was a pretty nerve-racking day for me. I couldn't think straight, it's very difficult to especially if the issue is about my sons health. Kaden has been sick on and off the past few months, and I hope we can get to the bottom of what's really wrong on this trip so that we can properly manage whatever the problem is.

As of the moment Kaden's pretty active and back to his makulit-hyper self, I'm very glad. The doctor's said we can already be discharged by tomorrow but we will have to stay in Manila for a bit longer so we can observe Kaden and so it will be easy to come in for consultation every now and then.
It's been 7 months since I was last here in Manila, and that's a pretty long time for me. I've missed the polluted Manila air as well as the bumper-to-bumper traffic. Most of all, I've missed the malls (especially Rockwell and Gb) but this is NOT a pleasure trip so I'll have to pass on that for now.

It also means that it's been 7 months since I've been on a plane. I think my phobia for flying is back. My husband used to tease me about it because I'm on the plane a lot, so he finds it funny that I of all people have this fear of flying. I attribute it to too much of Air Crash Investigation. I think the Air France incident as well as the bad weather is adding to my paranoia.
I had no choice but to leave my little Chace behind. He is now in the loving arms of my mother-in-law because my mom flew with us to Manila because I didn't think I could handle it on my own. We all miss Chace very much, especially Kaden who asked me if he could write his baby brother a letter. So I let him write his "letter" on his draw board.
That's Kaden's handwriting and he wrote what he wanted to say to his little brother. He asked for help though to spell words like, "brother", "carlos chace", "you", and "miss". :)

My Kaden is a very smart boy for a 3-year old, he learned to write (on his own, ha) and spell sometime late last year and now knows letter sounds--on his way to reading already. In fact there are already some words that he can read. A doctor assessed him here, and told us that Kaden's skills are that of a 5-year old boy. Every parent wants to think their child is smart, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm one of them. But I'm not the only person who thinks so. Everyone who comes across him, especially his teachers are awed by him. :)

We can't wait to go back home to our little baby. Hopefully, Kaden's doctor(s) will give us the go signal to go home soon. When they do, it will also mean that everything is fine with Kaden. That's my only prayer right now.

Hi Mar, I had no idea re Kaden! I hope he's alright and will pray for everything to be well and normal. Now I feel terrible for bothering you about something so trivial!

Teody and I will remember you and Kaden in our prayers.

Hi Ram, thanks. First it was bloody stool and they said he needed a colonoscopy. Now they find his snoring disturbing. But he's better now. :)
