Long Time No Blog

Haven't posted an entry in a while because my days have been very uneventful. Nothing blog-worthy so far, plus I've been uninspired. Yesterday though was a busy day for me. Poor Kuya Kaden got sick so we had to take him to the doctor, Chace had his first immunization [outside of the hospital], and I attended Alfonso's birthday.

My little boys getting ready to go to their pediatrician (who was also mommy's pediatrician when she was younger)
My poor sick baby.
Little Chace enjoying his shot.
I hate it when any of my kids get sick because I become super worried. I wish I could get sick instead of them. I was happy to know though, that my Chace is overweight for his age. Meaning mommy has been feeding him really well! Yey to nursing! :)

He's grown so fast that I had to get him new shirts because some of his newborn ones are too light already. He just doesn't look fat in the pictures because his head is so small (very artistahin).
My nursing classmates/groupmates.
Of course, I almost didn't go because I'm still not up to attending social events [because I'm still fat]. :) But I've missed being with my classmates because I haven't been out since we finished going on duty in mid March. Plus, I owe Alfonso too much to turn down his invitation. Also, it may be his last birthday here in Zamboanga since he's planning to leave for the States for good soon. What also helped convince me to go was that his chef sister, Nikki prepared the food. Okay fine, I'll admit it. I was there for the food... which was really good btw, so I'm glad I went.

The birthday celebrant, Alfonso.
Argh. I haven't been doing anything productive lately, and I haven't been going anywhere. But once my little boy is a bit bigger, and after I'm done nursing him, mommy's gonna go get her ME time. Actually as early as March, I already had etickets for my trips all the way till the end of this year! Oh, and my hubbylicious is already planning my trip for early next year... that is, if I'm up for it! ;) Just kidding love, of course I'll go but I hope you don't regret it. You will have a hard time keeping me away from the mall though. LOL. Thanks to my supportive husband for being very encouraging about my ME time. :)

Okay, but for now I have to get back to my kids.

Listening to: Lily Allen's Smile. "At worst, I feel bad for a whiiiiilee, and then I smiiiiile..."
Mood: Hohum. but happy! Life is good. Everything's sweet. :)

I used to like collecting images like these, which they call "bumper stickers" on facebook-- I'm not really sure what they're called.

Anyway, I decided that I'd like to post some every now and then in my blog. :)

Very well said. My favorite pastime as well.

My Husband... 36 Going On 16.

Happy Happy Birthday To My Dearest Hubbylicious!

Not everyone knows how Art & I started, I'm not going to elaborate on that in this post but all I can say is- I commend him on his foresight!
We were not a couple yet in this picture. But according to him, he knew even then that eventually we were gonna end up together. Pure wishful thinking.

Trivia: Art and I met at work. We once had a really big fight and I was so mad at him that I drafted a resignation letter which he gladly accepted and right away submitted to our boss! Good thing our boss sat me down and told me to think about it. I cried so hard when our boss told me that he got promoted and he was going to be a boss as well.
But dreams do come true! Can you see the longing and desire in his eyes? No, we were not yet a couple here too. I commend him (again) though for his determination as well as perseverance. He knew what he wanted and he never gave up on me, no matter what I did (Buti nalang!).
Soon enough I realized that he was after all what I wanted too. So we became a couple-a very happy couple. :) I love how being with him is just plain fun, and how the silly things we do become interesting. He makes me laugh a lot, and he says I make him laugh too. Not everyone gets my humor, so that's a big for me.
I love how I can talk to him about anything and everything. He is a great friend [and in the absence of my best friend, he is now also my best friend]. I know that one day when we grow old and grey, when all the excitement dies down, it is very important to have someone by your side who you can talk to-- and who you love talking to. The thing I miss most now that we're apart is our late night conversations when we're in bed- about our goals and our plans for our family- or when we're just plain teasing each other until we laugh ourselves to sleep.
From the very start until now, he is very supportive of me. He supports everything I do and everything I want to do [including my shopaholic tendencies ha]. Just as I support him in all his plans and decisions. Now that we're married, all his successes and failures are mine, just as mine are his. I love how when I'm wrong about something, he doesn't find the need to point it out, instead he just pretends not to notice.
See the longing and desire in his eyes? It's still there. We were already a couple in this picture and we were preparing for our wedding. Having a long distance relationship [or marriage for that matter] is hard, but I think we're bridging the gap pretty well. We never miss a day of talking to each other, we chat endlessly, we even comment on each other's blogs & tweets! (haha) Some people may say its not the same, and they're right. But what's important is that this is working for us right now, and it makes seeing each other again even more special. We both know that this is temporary, but Art is still working on convincing me to move, though. ;p
They say marriage is tough and that the best way to ruin a perfectly happy relationship is to get married. That's probably true, and maybe our day of trials will come. But I am confident that we will be able to overcome all that and more. Because Art never gave up on me, I learned not to give up on him too... and in the long run I know that that will be very good for us.
Before we were married I used to tease him about being a momma's boy. He would tell me that he's not, but I'd insist. Now that we're married I can see that he is not a momma's boy but being an only son, he just really takes good care of his mother. I know other wives get annoyed when that happens but I find it sweet and it makes me love him more... Actually I wish my sons would grow up to be just like him. I love being married to this person and I look forward to many many wonderful years with him.

To my husband who wishes to be 16 instead of 36, who sometimes acts 16 instead of 36, and who claims to look 16 instead of 36, To my hubbylicious who is both my McDreamy and my McSteamy, who is always McHottie-- Happy happy birthday! I love being your wifey and I love you more & more everyday. :)

Lust Lust

Some mac convert I am. A few months back, I blogged about the tiny sony vaio that I had a crush on. But I found the price a bit too steep for a mini laptop so it was easy for me to move on.

Last month, they launched the Vivienne Tam for HP mini. A lot of fashionista bloggers blogged about it. I thought it was very pretty but my macbook is working perfectly fine, thus I have no need for a replacement.
But three weeks after, I still can't stop thinking about it. It doesn't help that it's much much cheaper than the Vaio. [Not as small though]

I'm trying to save up for something, but I'm veeery tempted to give in and get this.
It's just so chic! Sigh!
I don't need this. But I'm just too weak when it comes to these things. Someone stop me, please.

Only 250 units being sold in the Philippines, I'm worried I might run out if I don't decide soon. Lol. :)

Do You Tweet?

I've had my twitter account for a few months now but I haven't been following anyone until recently. [Look to the left side of my blog for updates]

I only started to follow people a few weeks ago, and it wasn't even serious following because I limited it to following celebrities... which I found both interesting and funny, lol. Actually, it all started with Ashton and Demi, and then Oprah and Nicole Richie. After that I started following my crush Rj Ledesma (stalker!) and the list goes on...

Right now I think I have like less than 10 real friends on twitter.

I find that I enjoy updating my status on twitter more than on facebook, because sometimes I just don't feel like announcing what I'm doing or what's on my mind to the whole world [or to all my fb contacts] but rather to the very few interested ones who chose to follow me on twitter, as well as to the loyal readers of my blog.

Why am I blogging about twitter? Because I just want to share to the bored and corny like me that if you want to follow filipino celebrities who tweet, you can look here. While you can try this for hollywood celebrities. Twitterrific, d ba?

Enjoy tweeting. Tweet you later!

Men Take Note

As much as possible, I'm trying to avoid reposting in this blog. But this one is just too funny and is oh-so-true. [I sometimes find myself saying these nine words to my husband in the very few arguments that we have ;)]

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house. [Or if you're given five minutes to get home]

3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'. That will bring on a 'whatever').

8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying Fu&* YOU!

9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

To my husband, now you can stop trying to figure out what I'm trying to say when I'm pissed. Just remember to refer to this blog post ;) Love you much!

Heelarious. So cute!

I recently came across heelarious, a brand that sells adorable high heeled crib shoes for baby girls (0-6 months). Its sooo cute that it makes me want to have a baby girl asap! Lol! :)
These crib shoes are not intended for walking as the heel will collapse with weight. It was designed especially for baby girls whose mommies want them to grow up to be the next Carrie Bradshaw.
Its been said that these baby shoes have been selling like wildfire since it was launched in June 2008. According to In Touch, celebrities like Nicole Ritchie and Elizabeth Rohm are also fans.
Aren't they cute? If we're gonna be blessed with a baby girl, I swear I'm gonna get one. In red! Which is my favorite color.
Available in Rustans.

Happy Mothers Day!

Motherhood is such a wonderful experience! Even though my kids gave me stretch marks and took away all my ME time, I won't trade it for anything in the world.

To all the mothers out there,

Isn't it pure joy to be a mom?

Hmm.. I wonder if I can still say that once my boys become teenagers.

To my mom, who is an avid reader of my blog:

To all those who texted and messaged me greetings, Thanks! :)

6 Things That Make Me Happy

This is called the "6 Things That Make Me Happy Tag." According to the rules, the things should be unimportant. As usual, I'm not planning to tag anyone so it looks like I'm breaking the actual rules of the tag. I just thought it would be nice to share the 6 (only 6?!) silly things that never fail to make my day. It wasn't easy coming up with these because we would assume that whatever makes us happy is important, to us at least.

1. Trying out new restaurants. Those who know me, know that I love food and eating is a favorite past time of mine. One reason that I really miss Manila (aside from the shopping) is because I miss trying out new places to eat, just as much as I miss my favorite restaurants. There just isn't much to choose from here in Zamboanga. I also enjoy reading food/restaurant reviews online so I can plan where I want to eat the next time I'm in Manila. Too bad I can't cook anything to save my life. Sometimes I think I should have married a chef. Heheh.

2. Watching my two boys sleep. It seems that when they are fast sleep, it is the only time of the day that I get to see them calm, peaceful and serene [not to mention behaved!]. I adore my little boys, and its so cute how Kaden talks in his sleep while Chace chuckles.

3. Downloading episodes of my favorite shows. Downloading is my guilty pleasure, I think I leave my laptop on 24/7 because of this. I download Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Gossip Girl, Heroes, 24, Chuck, among many others. I get sad whenever the season ends and I get really affected when other shows I like (like Lipstick Jungle) don't get renewed for another season.

4. Blog-hopping. Among my favorite blogs are Chuvaness, Daphne Osena's, The Bag Hag, Manila Fashion Observer, Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop (which I signed up to receive newsletters from) and many others. Just look at the right portion of my blog for the links.

5. Long warm baths. My mom constantly complains about the length of time I spend in the bathroom, but what can I do? I can't possibly deny myself that long, warm, relaxing bath. This is also why I like buying great smelling bath products.

6. Online "window" shopping. I may not be able to go shopping [or window shopping for that matter] now because I'm still fat [hehehe] and because I'm stuck here in Zamboanga [in the mean time], but I still find myself going online "window" shopping every now and then. The experience doesn't come close to the real thing, but so far it's been a good substitute for the shopaholic in me.

Venus & Mars Loot.

During my pregnancy, I got into this organic products phase. Now that I'm nursing, I still feel more comfortable using products that I know are organic. Plus, I like supporting locally made products... if they're good.

After reading about Venus & Mars on reviews and forums, my curiosity got the better of me so I decided to give a few of their products a shot. I wanted to see what Emu Oil, one of the main ingredients of their products, really does to the skin.

This is from their site, click to read more about Emu Oil.
Emu oil is an oil made from the refined fat of the Emu, a bird native to Australia. It has been used for a thousand of years for the treatment of burns, wounds and bruises. It has also been used as a pain reliever for bone, muscle and joint orders. It is used to soften the skin while making it 2.5 times thicker and stronger, (thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles!) and is frequently found in ointments for dry cracked heels. It is considered to be the "it" ingredient in beauty products, such as natural analgesics, non-surgical facelifts and wrinkle removers because it is the only natural oil that penetrates the skin the fastest.

Emu oil has has been shown in studies to aid in reducing scar formation in healed burn wounds, muscle sprains and arthritis due to its strong anti-inflammatory properties. It is also known to lighten the skin's appearance.

My orders were:
VNM Bare It All Emu Cream
VNM Spa Milk Salt
100% Premium Emu Oil
VNM CPC+G
Minty Geranium Mud Emu Soap
Poppy Plush Emu Soap
Freebie: Lulur Soap Sample

I am very loyal to Dove soaps, but I'm pretty excited to try these new soaps because I've read many good things about them. :)

Happy First Month To Our Baby Chace!

I can't believe it's been a month since I delivered, but it's been a delight to watch our baby grow everyday.
Check out his double chin.
Today was his first time to go to church with the family. He looked so handsome all dressed up. [Sorry, no church pictures as I had my hands full the entire time.] Except for one little whine that lasted a long three seconds, baby was a good little boy throughout the service.
After church, my mom prepared a little lunch celebration as Lola Inday & Lolo Mael joined. We were all supposed to watch the Pacquio-Hatton game but it was over by the time we arrived from church, much to my dad's disappointment. A knockout on the second round?! A bit too fast don't you think? But a great fight nonetheless. Yey, go Manny! Talk about filipino pride.

Talking about pride, here's me with some mommy lovin'. Excuse the cleavage since it's only temporary. It will be gone anyway as soon as I'm done nursing, which is too bad.
A grainy shot with Kuya Kaden using my phone camera.
My sweet boys with their party hats.
Kuya Kaden blowing the candle [and licking the cake] since his baby brother is too little to do it himself.
I think Chace was bored with the picture taking and all, because he fell asleep sometime during the blowing of the candle.
Zzzzz...
